Eugene C. Breithaupt, age 86, of Traverse City passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was born September 9, 1930 in Traverse City to Clifford and Eva (Lannin) Breithaupt. Gene attended Solon Township Schools.
Gene married the late Theresa A. Gallivan on May 6, 1958 in Traverse City. Together they raised two children. Gene worked for Joslin Chevrolet for 40 years as a parts salesman. After his retirement, Gene continued to work in parts sales for Traverse Bay Marine for another 20 years.
He was a life time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic...

He was a life time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed his time with his two grandsons, Jason and Justin.
Gene will be greatly missed by his children: Jan (James) Slagal of Traverse City and Dave (Pam) Breithaupt of Cedar; 2 grandchildren: Jason and Justin Slagal; a sister, Jodi Wonderlee, and his beloved dog, Shadow.
Besides his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife Theresa and infant brother, Bobby Breithaupt.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Gene will be laid to rest next to his wife, Theresa, at Oakwood Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Gene's name may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
